Battlefield Tours
Wens Travel has been organizing Battlefield and Remembrance Tours since 1975, when we started with the organization of Anniversary celebrations of the Allied Landings in Normandy. Since then, we have welcomed many groups to Normandy for each subsequent anniversary and have extended our battlefield programs to encompass a wide range of World War interests. The focus of our tours ranges from significant military operations to the occupation and liberation of a specific country, to following in the footsteps of the Allied forces. We have built long and prosperous relationships in the field of Remembrance Tourism, including direct contacts at museums, memorials and with specialized local guides to ensure we can provide groups with an in-depth experience.
We are proud to work with and be a partner of the Liberation Route Europe Foundation. Their aim is to bring together national perspectives on the liberation of Europe, to learn and share experiences and understanding, in order to create a unified awareness of the importance of freedom.
In our tours we include significant historic sites and memorial ceremonies with touristic highlights and local experiences. We want to show the war from different perspectives, including stories of the local population, the invaders and the liberators. We can customize our tours to include private lectures and ceremonies (wreath laying), participation in anniversary parades and tribute performances for music ensembles.
